New in iTunes 9: Sync libraries with multiple computers

September 9, 2009

For me, the most exciting announcement from today’s Apple event was the introduction of Home Sharing:

Home Sharing brings iTunes synchronization to a home level. Up to now, it hasn’t been easy to synchronize iTunes between multiple computers without the use of scripts or third-party applications. Now up to five authorized computers in your house can [...]

Music in the clouds?

July 7, 2009

Kirk McElhearn talks about how we listen to music and a future of unlimited music for subscribers:

The way we listen to music changed when, after decades of coming from needles in grooves, it went digital. Now that digital music is mature, the next step is to disembody it entirely and stick it on central servers [...]

Rating systems that are simpler

February 15, 2009

December 24, 2008

Hollywood execs don’t yet understand how to utilize new media when it comes to distribution. It’s much the same way newspapers are still struggling with how to use the Internet in presenting their printed product.

Consumers love the ability to watch movies online through such offerings as Netflix, iTunes and even Hulu. And while the first [...]

Let’s Rock tomorrow (but to what?)

September 8, 2008

Tomorrow marks the special event for Apple. As with most fall events, this one will be iPod/iTunes centric. (Probably safe to throw in the iPhone as well…)

So, what’s to be expected? There are plenty of folks out there giving you their lists. Outside of what these far-more-knowledgeable folks (and by far, I mean, like, way [...]
